This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of HIFEM for the treatment of incontinence. Patients who participated in this study all experienced symptoms of stress, urge or mixed urinary incontinence. Patients were evaluated after receiving 6 treatments of 28 minutes per treatment and re-evaluated three months’ post-treatment.
This study showed that following the prescribed six treatments, 81.33% of patients reported a reduction in incontinence symptoms. The average improvement of incontinence in patients increased from 49.93%-after 6 treatments to 64.42% in the three month follow up. Results of the investigation also reported that 70% of patients observed a significant reduction in use of absorbent. Patients of this study did not report any adverse effects or pain and reported additional beneficial effects such as increased sexual desire and better urinary control.
